Saif Ali Khan’s second home production under Illuminati Films, is the action thriller Agent Vinod, directed by Sriram Raghavan. After all the delays, and a massive budget being already spent on production and subsequent marketing, the movie hits the cinemas across the world, this Friday. Expectations are sky-high as the real-life jodi Saif-Kareena are paired together, as well director Sriram Ragahavan, whose last movie Johnny Gaddar, was very well received by the critics as well the public. And let’s see what the critics thought of it.
Gaurav Malani, Times Of India: Rating:- Above Average
How we wish the globetrotting in between was as much compelling. The film is entertaining but not in entirety. Agent Vinod gets the nod though not whole-heartedly!
Raja Sen, Rediff: Rating: 2.5 Stars / 5
Agent Vinod wants to be funny, and while there is the occasional burst of wit, it’s exhaustingly rare.
Kaveree Bamzai, India Today:
If only Sriram Raghavan had not gone weak in the knees at the thought of love, Agent Vinod would have been a sharper, smarter, cooler film.
Aniruddha Guha, DNA: Rating: 2 Stars / 5
Sriram Raghavan’s Agent Vinod is brilliant in bits, and incredibly asinine in others. It’s probably the most inconsistently good film I’ve watched lately, and a massive letdown.
Shaheen Parkar, Mid Day: Rating: 2.5 Stars / 5
..there are those moments to make Agent Vinod a one-time watch.
Daily Bhaskar: Rating: 3 Stars / 5
On the whole, Agent Vinod is not a flawless venture, but if you are hungry for experimental cinema, this one’s to die for.
Kunal Guha, Yahoo Movies: Rating: 1 Star / 5
So let’s just say foreign locales, weapons to annihilate the world, designer suits and not-so-excruciating interrogations don’t cumulatively justify ‘Agent Vinod’ as a thrilling movie-watching experience.
Taran Adarsh, Bollywood Hungama: Rating: 4 Stars / 5
AGENT VINOD has all the potential to develop into a triumphant franchise!
Mrigank Dhaniwala, KoiMoi: Rating: 2 Stars / 5
On the whole, Agent Vinod is a half-baked fare which disappoints. You do not love Agent Vinod or root for him.
Looks like it is after all an average-fare movie. Will you be watching this over the weekend? And if you already have, add your mini-review of the movie in the comments section below. Cheerio!
