New Attributes Added to Google’s My Business Profile

Amidst the global crisis, Google has added attribute to highlight new service offerings so that the customers are more informed about businesses before they visit the stores in person.

These attributes are in the Google My Business profile, where we can let others know our details like address, timings, contact details, and services. These details can be viewed by customers who search for businesses on the Google search engine and Google Maps.

The most commonly used attributes in GMB (Google My Business) listing are “Wi-Fi” or “Outdoor Seating”. Given the current situation globally, people want to know whether businesses offer home delivery services. In some parts of the world, restaurants have been permitted to operate and so it is kind of vital if they can indicate that they have resumed the “dine-in” services.

To make life easier for businesses, Google has added these new attributes, which are namely, “dine-in”, “curb-side pickup” and “no contact delivery.” Google has observed that millions of eateries and restaurants have changed their attributes over the past few months. It has also allowed virtual kitchens to verify their businesses online to support them in these times. Restaurants can now recommend your third-party delivery partner and users can choose for the preferred ones.

Due to lockdown, dine in places are suffering while food delivery apps have cashed in the opportunities and have been earning a lot through commissions. While restaurants will still pay the commissions, users will be able to see the option where they would have to pay the lowest. Also, Google has added the feature, which allows the businesses to sell giftcards and this appears along with listings. This move is to attract people to the firms after the crisis is over, and the lockdowns are lifted.

To make use of the newly available attributes, you have to do the following:

  • Sign in to your Google Business
  • Click on the location you wish to manage
  • Click on “menu” then on “info.”
  • There you will see “Add Attribute” and the “Edit.”

You can go through all the options and choose the ones which are right for your current operations.

  • After this, just click on “Apply,” and we are good to go.
