NASA has announced the receiver of its CAPSTONE CubeSat agreement, revealing that the California-dependent organization Rocket Lab will provide the start providers for this distinct mission. Rocket Lab is commercially licensed by the FAA as a start company, according to NASA, which says that its CAPSTONE CubeSat weighs only 55lbs and is destined for cislunar orbit close to the Moon.
The Cislunar Autonomous Positioning Technique Technologies Operations and Navigation Experiment (CAPSTONE) CubeSat will expend three months touring to the Moon following it launches on an Electron rocket from NASA’s facility in Virginia.
